Motorcyclists warned not to park outside the Wine Press

Motorcyclists have parked outside the Wine Press for many years but could now face a ticket
On Sunday parking wardens began warning motorcyclists outside the Wine Press at Hollingworth Lake that their bikes were illegally parked and new parking laws mean bikes can no longer be parked there.
Bikers have for many years parked there but whilst it is understood no one was forced to move their bike on Sunday, they were threatened with parking tickets if they do so in future.
Mark Widdup, Director of Economy and Environment at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “The parking restrictions that apply to motor vehicles also apply to motorbikes. The bikers were advised of this and informed that should they continue to park on the restrictions it is likely a Penalty Charge Notice could be issued.”
