Beetle drive raises money for youth projects
Date published: 30 September 2013
The Rotary Club of Middleton raised £310 for youth projects by holding their grand beetle drive.
The beetle drive involved six frantic drawing games with 42 children and adults taking part.
Dot Rochford was crowned winner in the adult’s category and Abigail Matthews took first place in the youth category.
Keith Trinnaman, Rotary Club of Middleton Vice President & Treasurer said: “Given the work we do with young people in the borough, it was good that we could raise funds for our projects in such a way that was fun and brought out the youth in all who attended."
The money raised through the event will go towards projects including, Rotakids, Young Citizen Awards, Young Photographer Competition, Rotary’s Youth Leadership Award Course and many other youth projects that Rotary organises in the borough throughout the year.
Stuart Sawle, President of the Rotary Club of Middleton, said: “Our Youth and Vocational Committee organises really fantastic events.
"I want to thank each member of the committee for all their hard work organising the beetle drive.
"We look forward to their next fundraiser and we invite our community to join us.”
