Three boys attacked for their mobiles

Date published: 20 August 2013

Three 12-year-olds were on Whitworth Road, Rochdale, when they were approached by a man in his late teens.

The offender, who was on a small black BMX, threatened and attacked the victims, punching one boy in the face and putting him into a headlock before fleeing with two mobile phones.

He is described as white, about 19-years-old with short black hair, medium build with a local Rochdale accent.

The attack occurred shortly before 7pm on Sunday 11 August 2013.

Detective Constable Russ Clarke, at Rochdale INPT, said: “This man clearly thinks nothing of picking on a group of much younger kids, attacking them and stealing their possessions.

“Thankfully they were not badly injured, but they were very shook up by this.
