Date published: 06 July 2013

Reece Kay, 20, of Waithlands Road, Rochdale, pleaded guilty to killing Royal Marine Commando Wesley Clutterbuck when he appeared at Manchester Crown Court.

Wesley, 19, from Whitworth, was punched in the face and knocked to the ground on Fleece Street, Rochdale. He sustained serious head injuries. He sadly died on Sunday 30 June 2013.

Paying tribute to him, Wesley's family, said: “Wesley was our son. He was only 19 years old and the most likeable, happy go lucky person you could ever meet."

“Wes was our life and, in his death, he has given renewed life to so many other people by his organ donations. His wish was to donate as many of his organs as possible and, in the main, this wish has been granted."
