Beech House School presentation at Museum of Science and Industry

Date published: 26 June 2013

As part of their ‘Climate Change Outreach Project’ class 9D from Beech House School, in collaboration with the Science Museum London, held a presentation evening at the Museum of Science and Industry, starting off with a show about Manchester’s revolution, explaining the invention of steam engines.

The evening included a show from the comedy team Punk Science whose aim is to explain the myths of climate change to the general public.

Science teacher Mrs Grange says the event was a success and Punk Science have been influential in changing the attitudes of some of the students.

Mrs Grange said: “The Year 6 students seemed to understand the groups’ message; it has also encouraged pupils to start buying locally produced food.”

Beech House School was in the top four schools for science in 2012. The school aims to finish higher this year.
