Out of this world

Date published: 14 September 2012

“Out of this world” was the only way to describe the start to the new school year at Hamer Primary School last week.

Staff and pupils arrived on their first day together, to find that a mysterious object had appeared on the school playing fields. Covered in strange markings, the hexagonal shaped capsule prompted much speculation amongst the classes, especially when two PCSO’s and a ‘scientist’ arrived to seal off the area and begin an investigation.

Theories centred around the object being alien in origin and pupils enjoyed opportunities to visit the site in order to gather information of their own, which they then used to produce a variety of forms of writing and artwork of their own.
