ADVERTORIAL

Mission Statement: To create a winter sport centre of excellence whilst promoting community participation in recreation and sport

For over 35 years Ski Rossendale has been providing our local and wider communities across the North West with accessible winter sports facilities for all.

Constructed in 1973, the now iconic Ski Rossendale has now been fully re-opened by Ski Rossendale Ltd Social Enterprise and is looking forward to developing a centre of excellence.

Ski Rossendale Ltd Social Enterprise took over the management and development of Ski Rossendale in August 2011 and re-opened to the public on 3 September 2011. As a social enterprise with charity status we are committed to develop Ski Rossendale, giving back to the community a facility which has been used by over 30,000 people every year. With ever increasing numbers coming back to ski and snowboard, many of who are learning to ski for the first time we are assured of a successful future. All profits made will be re- invested to further develop the centre towards becoming an ‘inspired facility’ within the U.K.

For those people who love skiing and snowboarding in fresh air amongst the beautiful outdoors then Ski Rossendale is the place to be.

We are very fortunate to have a really supportive group of volunteers who give of their time and expertise, everyone passionately caring for and working towards the long term success of Ski Rossendale.

Our commitment to supporting the local community is perhaps best illustrated with our relationship to Tor View Special needs School who have been very generous towards Ski Rossendale. Our commitment to supporting their Special Olympic team with training and coaching is on going. Without Ski Rossendale Tor View would not be able to access training for their team. We are delighted and inspired with this kind of partnership.

Ski Rossendale Social Enterprise awarded the ‘Sports ambassador of the year’ by Snowsport England at the club and volunteer awards 2011.
