What the site will look like once completed
A new housing development in Wardleworth, Rochdale, has started.
The Kitchen Street site is the second phase of the Wardleworth Housing Market Renewal plan to regenerate the area.
The development is being funded in part by a £702,000 grant from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The scheme, which will see 12 houses built on the site, has taken two years to plan and will take a further 12 months to complete.
Martin Davies, Director of Development at Regenda, which is working in partnership with Rochdale Council, said: “We’re delighted to have received funding and support from the HCA and Rochdale Council to develop this site, which will provide affordable, high quality houses which meet the needs of local families.
“During the planning stage we held extensive consultations with the community to make sure that local people had a significant input into the design of the new homes.”
Once built, the houses will meet ‘Secured by Design’, ‘Building for Life’ and the HCA’s design quality standards.
