Children give Norden Sure Start centre nod of approval

Date published: 01 June 2010

The Norden Sure Start Children’s Centre got the thumbs up from its unique brand of inspectors as youngsters gave their opinions on how it was organised in a special welcome event.

The children had the opportunity to say what they thought about the running of the centre, and talked about what they liked to do there, as well as discussing the word ‘welcome’ and what it meant to them.

A sign designed by the youngsters was erected in the building’s reception area to welcome new families, along with their comments and photographs of the junior artists. Visitors to the centre have been impressed by the artwork on display.

Carrie Holden, Children’s Centre Early Years Worker said: “The children really, really enjoyed this activity and they were very excited that their hard work was displayed in the centre for their families to see everyday.”
