Heywood Community High School Prom

Date published: 17 June 2009

The turn of Heywood Community High School pupils to celebrate leaving school with a prom, at the Village Hotel in Bury.

Stretch limousine companies are clearly not feeling the recession if the number pulling up at the hotel was anything to go by, there were black, white and even pink!

The school has been in the news recently due to teacher Noorul Choudhury appearing on ‘The Apprentice’; talking to Rochdale Online, Mr Choudhury said: “I love teaching and it’s great to help getting the kids through their GCSEs.”

Pupil Tom Kay said he had a good time at school, he added: “I am looking forward to going to college to study media.”

Tanya Swainson said: “I really want to join the police force. I’ve always wanted to be in the police, hopefully Greater Manchester Police.”

Nathan Matthews had a special thank you for one of his teachers, he said: “I have to thank Mr Baird, he has to be the best teacher.”
