A McLaren MCL35M was on display at the Whitworth Road Garage earlier this month on 6 and 7 May.
The Anwar family – who have owned the garage for over 30 years - recently changed its fuel supplier to Gulf and took advantage of Gulf’s global sponsorship of the McLaren F1 team to coordinate this initiative.
“We thought that it would be great for the people of Rochdale to see an F1 car at close quarters,” explained Junaid Anwar.
“Outside of Silverstone it doesn’t usually happen, and we knew it would create a lot of interest. Our regulars loved it and it attracted lots of new faces too.”
