A motorbike vlogger who filmed a micro-documentary about the annual Ring of Red Ride of Remembrance has been named runner-up in two categories of the Motorbike TV Peoples Awards.

Known by her online persona Saffy Sprocket, Saffron Sheriff, 29, filmed a micro-documentary on the annual event which saw her short-listed for the Motorbike TV Peoples Awards for best motorbike social media channel. Saffron’s channel was the smallest nominated and the results were unveiled on Friday (10 December).

Saffron, who lived in Rochdale for six years before moving to Chester in 2021, placed as first-runner up for best social media and third runner-up for most inspirational female rider.

She said: "I never intended for my content to draw so much attention to myself. I just wanted to help share the stories and lives of local bikers and help bring attention to well-deserved charities.

“To see my name next to two people I've looked up to for years is insane. They've both been an incredible source of inspiration for me.

“I'm so honoured and happy to have all the bikers from Rochdale voting for my content and helping me along my journey into biking."

The Ring of Red Ride M60 is an annual event, organised by Jeanette Netty Keily, which shows support for members of the Armed Forces, both current and former members.

Held on Remembrance Sunday, thousands of bikers wearing red take to the M60 ring road from Birch Services – appearing to make a huge red poppy when viewed from above.

Herself a biker, Saffron has previously attended the event three times before documenting the hard work of the volunteers.

Saffron has been creating videos for YouTube for 11 months; her Saffy Sprocket YouTube channel has over 6,400 subscribers, and she also has her own website with additional content.
