Flood alert in place in Littleborough

A flood alert has been issued for Littleborough this evening (Friday 21 February 2020).

River levels are forecast to rise at the Littleborough river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.

Consequently, there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the Rivers Beal, Roch and Croal, Limy Water and their tributaries.

River levels are expected to peak at around 10pm tonight, reducing below the flood alert threshold in the early hours of Saturday morning.

As of 4.45pm, the river level is 0.61m and is forecast to reach 1.04m.

The highest level forecast in the next 36 hours is 1.04m at 4.45am Sunday 23 February 2020:

River levels are expected to reach flood alert threshold at around 8pm tonight.
