Work gets underway to build a world class Treetop attraction at Heaton Park

Date published: 16 February 2017

Work is now underway at Treetop Trek Ltd’s brand new site in Heaton Park. The development will see the construction of a seven-acre treetop adventure experience, suitable for all ages and abilities, in the heart of Europe's largest municipal park.

The new Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets attractions are due to open in June and will feature giant treetop trampolines, an aerial treetop adventure course, zip wire canopy tour and the longest continuous belay ropes course in the UK.

It is expected that 40 new jobs will be created, with local recruitment for the varied roles underway now. Anyone interested locally in the posts available is urged to get in touch with the Treetop Team.

Mike Turner, Managing Director of Treetop Trek Ltd, said: “It’s a fantastic feeling to finally be underway with our work on the Heaton Park site and it means we’re now a big step closer to bringing Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets to Manchester.”

Launched in Cumbria in 2012, Treetop Trek has grown to become a multi-award-winner, including gaining the title of Best Tourism Experience at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence for its site at Windermere. The Heaton Park development follows the company’s previous successful expansion into North Yorkshire with the opening of Treetop Nets at Ripon in May 2016.
