Armed robbery at The Crimble

Date published: 24 January 2017

The Crimble Hall restaurant in Bamford was raided by robbers armed with crow bars and a knife on 15 January.

The robbers stuck after 9pm on Sunday 15 January, when staff were locking up for the night.

A spokesperson for Deckers, which owns Crimble Hall, said: “I can confirm that on Sunday 15 January 2017 Crimble Hall was subject to an armed robbery. The building was entered after the guests had left, whilst a manager and two other employees were in the process of locking the building for the night.

“The robbers carried knives and crow bars. The majority of our transactions are these days conducted with credit or debit cards and any cash is regularly entered into a safe to which our staff have no access.

“Therefore, they were able to force the manager to hand over the float, but not the day’s takings.

“The members of our team who were in the building have been offered counselling and we continue to support them through this.”

A GMP spokesperson said: “Several men entered with crow bars and a knife and stole cash from the premises. A black car was seen leaving the scene.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
