Family Day fundraiser at The Empire in loving memory of Talaina Hussain

The Empire in Rochdale Town Centre was packed on Sunday for a Family Day Fundraiser in loving memory of Talaina Hussain.

Talaina, 18, tragically lost her life following a car accident on Monday 14 November.

Her devastated family described her as "beautiful person inside and out" and thanked family and friends for their support.

The family fun day was organised by one of Rochdale's best DJs, Jon Da Fox, he said: "It is good that the community comes together to raise funds for the family of the much loved and missed Talaina."

Empire owner Paul Whitham added: "I am sure it means a lot to Talaina's family to see so many people turn up to support them."

Co-hosting the event with Jon Da Fox was Ronnie Scott. 

Performing on stage throughout was a host of local talent: Danny Dearden, Kirsty Higgins, Ben Anderson, Darrel Hanna, Suzanne Hassnet, Holly Jaz, Rachel Kelly, Holly Withington, Lee Feeney, Miss H, Tara Pearson, and the dancers Believe in Yourself.

Along with the entertainment there was a long queue of children for the glitter tattooing and face painting, plus plenty to eat and drink, including hotdogs, home made cupcakes and a sweet stall.

A grand prize raffle and a cash prize draw helped swell the funds raised.
