Date published: 25 April 2016

The founder members of the Heywood Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Action Group, Debbie Goldrick, Pearl Naylor and Janet Lees, handed over a cheque for £200 to Maria Whittaker from Diabetes UK at Tilly's tea room.

The money was the remainder from the campaign to get the diabetic retinopathy screening reinstated at the Phoenix Centre for Heywood diabetics, which was successful, and was a thank you to Diabetes UK for the help received during the campaign.

Debbie Goldrick said: “We have folded the group and all money raised is being donated to Diabetes UK and other groups.
