Springhill Hospice Family Fun Day

Date published: 30 June 2005

Springhill Hospice will hold its annual Family Fun Day on Sunday 10th July commencing at 1.00pm until 5.00pm. The event, to be held at the Hospice on Broad Lane, Rochdale, is FREE to children under the age of 16 and grown-ups can get in for a whole 50p!

Ian Jenkins, Fundraising Manager, says, “We want to cater for everybody at this event, so we have face-painting, rides and a huge inflatable slide for the little’uns, as well as a giant bouncy castle and some prize stalls for the bigger kids!”

Also available on the day will be refreshment stalls, the chance to be taken for a ride with Henry the horse and his cart, and an opportunity to enter the Grand Hospice Balloon Race.

Entertainment will be provided by Rochdale Intermediate Wind Orchestra, the Phoenix Ambassadors Morris Troupe, Birch Radio Roadshow and children’s entertainer, Splodge the Clown.

Also appearing, from the new Arts, Sports and Culture Academy will be members of ‘Sounds of Rochdale’, Corynn Barrett, Heath Highway and Ellie Lenge. They will be joined by Janina Hilton, Natalie Tegama, Rachel Shore-Molyneux, Danielle Kelsall and Gradon Hadaway from the ‘Academy of Dance’ who will perform the Can Can.

All in all, a grand afternoon out – now all we need is the weather!
