Six-year-old boy saved by passing paramedics after collapsing outside Aldi

A six-year-old boy collapsed with a suspected cardiac arrest outside Aldi supermarket on Mellor Street on Friday afternoon.

The boy was given emergency CPR by two off duty paramedics who were passing at the time.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called at 4.00pm and attended along with paramedics.

A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at around 4.00pm to reports that a child had collapsed outside the store.

The youngster was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital.
