Not looking forward to the 14 February? The shops are full of valentine cards and gifts, red roses are everywhere you look, and love and romance are all around.
Not everyone is in a loving relationship just because of the date. If this time of year is distressing for you, perhaps due to memories of a loved one no longer with you, or not having anyone in your life to love, then please remember you do not have to suffer in silence, whilst it seems that everyone else around you is basking in romantic love.
The Samaritans are there to listen to you, to try to help you get through this time of year. Talking to someone and sharing your thoughts and feelings, whether it is by phone, email, text or face-to-face, really does help. You will not be judged and anything you say will be in confidence.
So, if you are struggling or feeling overwhelmed around the 14 February, please get in touch with the Samaritans and they will be there for you.
