Following the revelations that Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk has claimed thousands of pounds in 'dependants' expenses for his two eldest children, who he hasn't seen in years, his former wife and his eldest son have hit out at his claims that he has been doing all he can to get his eldest children to spend time with him in London.

Mr Danczuk is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "I have been doing all I can to get my eldest children to spend time with me and my other children in London."
He subsequently told the M.E.N.: “I have always made it clear that my children are welcome to come and live with me at any time."
George Danczuk, 18, the eldest son of Mr Danczuk, refutes those claims, he said: "He never contacts us or mum for us to see him."
George added: "I saw my dad one night in February 2012 and stayed at his old flat [Mr Danczuk's previous London-based accommodation, not his current flat in Pimlico]. That's the only time I've stayed with him in London. I was the one who instigated the visit. Before that I hadn't seen him for years.
"When he dropped me back off at home, my little sister [nine at the time] ran outside to say hello to him, he ignored her and drove off. She was upset for days."
Responding to her former husband's claims, Sonia Rossington said: "He has made no effort to see his children". Adddressing her frustration at Mr Danczuk she asked: "What action have you taken Simon?"
Mrs Rossington is adamant their 13-year-old daughter has never stayed at Mr Danczuk's London-based accommodation. She says Mr Danczuk has never even extended an invitation for his daughter to do so.
It is understood George has seen his father on one other occasion in London, in 2012, but did not stay overnight. George, at the time head boy at his school, had the honour of travelling to London for a private dinner with Lord Coe and the founder of his school, Sir Rod Alrdridge. Mr Danczuk gave him a lift from the train station in London to the dinner venue.
George said: "I haven't seen him for years since."
Having gained a place at university George did contact Mr Danczuk in August 2015, asking him for help with his university accommodation fees - Mr Danczuk refused:

Mr Danczuk, currently suspended from the Labour party due to his sending sex messages to a 17-year-old girl, is now facing an investigation into his expense claims. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "A report of misconduct has been made to Greater Manchester Police and we are currently liaising with the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) to ascertain who will investigate these allegations."
Mr Danczuk has been invited to comment further.
