Date published: 20 January 2009

Look who's coming to Heywood: Coronation Street star Samia Smith will visit Heywood Library on 28 February.
Actress Samia Smith, best known for her role as Maria in Coronation Street, will visit Heywood next month.
The 26-year old tv favourite will officially open the town's new-look library on Saturday 28 February.
The Grade 2 listed building in the town centre has benefited from an extensive refurbishment and now also boasts 12 computers with free high speed internet access, new children’s area, community meeting room and a display case of local history.
Sheila Sfrijan, Principal Librarian at Rochdale Council, said she is delighted that Samia is able to make the opening. “Library users have waited very patiently whilst the building closed for refurbishment, so we wanted to thank them and make the opening extra special," she said.
“Heywood now has a beautiful modern library and I’m sure visitors will be impressed with the new facilities. Everyone is invited to the opening to see the changes for themselves plus sign up for free membership.”
