Year Play
This term, children in year 5 have studied World War 1 to mark its centenary; at the end of this amazing topic, our Year 5 children also had the opportunity to rehearse and perform a play (Archie’s Dobson’s War) in front of parents and the whole school.
We were also delighted that Simon Danczuk, Rochdale’s Member of Parliament, was able to attend our performance, he said: “ I was very impressed with the play.”.
The children have worked incredibly hard to put this piece together in just 2 weeks.
All the teachers and support staff in Year 5 are incredibly proud of children’s dedication, commitment and hard work in making the show such a success. Well done to all involved.
Wimbledon
After entering the ballot for Wimbledon tickets, we were delighted to have been awarded 10 tickets for court number 2 on Tuesday the 1 July.
8 children from our school’s tennis club had the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the All England Club to watch the Wimbledon championships live.
The children were selected from a ballot of our own. When we arrived at Wimbledon, the sun was shining; the strawberries and cream were delicious.
What an amazing day, what an amazing experience for our children.
