Poppies and a soldier silhouette have been painted on the outside of a pub in Castleton.
Joanne and Peter Kelly, who run The Commercial, wanted to pay their respects in their own way when the new memorial was installed this summer.
With the help of a friend, the mural was completed earlier this week in just five-and-a-half hours and has already been met with high praise.
Mr Kelly said: “We are patriotic, and we want Castleton to look nice whilst remembering that every denomination has been touched by the world wars. We remember our very fond friends who died in conflict.
“We have a lot of soldiers who do come into the pub, and they think it’s fantastic that we’ve done this.”
Mrs Kelly added: "It was Peter's idea to paint the outside, and we've had quite a few compliments about it."
