Hamer Community Primary School - Care, Challenge and Fun

Date published: 22 June 2018

Care, Challenge and Fun

As parents will be aware, this week has been Fun Week in school, linked to our whole school motto of ‘Care, Challenge and Fun’.

The children have had an amazing time with a huge variety of memorable and enjoyable activities taking place.

We have had water fights in KS1, orienteering in KS1, cycling in EYFS, and a range of arts activities taking place across school.

There have been many more activities taking place in different classes and we will update the school website with further information and images next week.

Huge thanks to all staff for entering into the week with such enthusiasm and ensuring that all of our children have had a fabulous time.

Hollingworth Lake visits

Throughout the course of the week, groups from across school have been visiting Hollingworth Lake to take part in a series of water sports activities. The children have had an amazing time; one which we are sure they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Children in Early Years have all been involved in trips to the park this week. They enjoyed playing on the swings and slides and children in Reception particularly enjoyed their picnic in the band stand.

Huge thanks to all parents who assisted in the trip – your support is greatly appreciated.

Citizens of the Week

The whole school for having such fun with their learning, whilst demonstrating sensible behaviour.

The school has been buzzing with excitement all week, with children rehearsing and auditioning for our first ever Hamer’s Got Talent show. The grand final was held today, and it was a fabulous show lasting 2 hour! The judges had some very difficult decisions to make but in the end our winners were:

  • Overall winner – Maisha, Aleeza, Aliza, Munira and Mevish – comedy
  • KS1 winner – Haris – hoola hooping
  • LKS2 winner – Ellie - singing
  • UKS2 winner – Yaseen and Sohail – comedy magic

All the children were fabulous and will receive certificates for their effort. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in assembly next week.

Huge thanks to our guest judges who had all the difficult decisions to make.

Thank you so much:

  • Shasta (Chair of Governors)
  • Paul (Premises Supervisor)
  • Martin (Sports coach)

Well done to Mrs Booth’s Class with best attendance for week ending 15 June.
