Helen Jungmyar, Middleton Rotary presents a cheque to Dan Beisty of the Middleton & Heywood Young Lourdes Group
Middleton Rotary has donated funds to young people in the Middleton & Heywood Young Lourdes Group who travel to Lourdes to help sick and disabled people who are themselves making a pilgrimage to the shrine at Lourdes.
Rotarian Helen Jungmyar attended the Irish Night at St Peter’s RC Church, where the group was raising funds for the pilgrimage and presented a cheque to Dan Beisty.
She said: “Not only do the young that attend provide invaluable assistance to the sick, but it is also of great value in character building of the young helpers.
“Given that these young people have to raise funds for their travel arrangements as well as give their time for the help they give, Middleton Rotary has donated funds towards their 2018 trip.”
