Middleton Rotary Club help keep chair exercise at care home

Middleton Rotary Club President Janice Powel handed over a cheque for £250 to Claire Heathcote, from ‘Tracing Steps, Theatre & Dance Company’ at the Woods Court Care Home.
Tracing steps attend the care home to help the residents with restricted mobility by providing a form of armchair exercise, not only does this provide a form of exercise for those unable to exercise in other, more standard, ways, but also brings the residents together as a form of fun and social bonding.
Janice learned that the care home was struggling to provide the funds to keep these classes going and so Middleton Rotary stepped in to fund them for the rest of the year.
She said: “it really is important for the residents to continue with their exercise, even from their armchairs, so we really are pleased to be able to help them in this way.
"Tracing Steps do a wonderful job in making it fun for them also.”
Middleton Rotary helps out at Woods Court on a monthly basis at the memory café held there.
