Home Instead Rochdale day out at the illuminations with fish and chips and ice cream

Date published: 19 October 2017

Home Instead Senior Care took 34 care staff and clients on a trip to Blackpool to see the famous illuminations.

The idea to take a trip to Blackpool was that of Deputy Care Manager Rachel Kershaw, who planned and organised the trip as she wanted to do something special for Home Instead’s clients and caregivers.

The trip included a meal of fish and chips, a visit to the ice-cream parlour, and of course, the illuminations.

A Home Instead caregiver commented on the trip: “The Blackpool trip was fantastic. To have the chance for other carers and clients to meet was a really good idea.

“It was so nice to see the clients enjoying themselves and my client loved it. He had a fantastic time.”

One client said: “I had such a lovely time. The fish and chips were served quickly and the ice-cream in Cleveleys was a lovely touch. The illuminations were very good.”

Another client said: “I have not visited the illuminations for over 60 years and I enjoyed it very much. It was a lovely day out.”
