St Andrew’s, rocks to 'Dukes Road' band

Date published: 13 October 2017

St Andrew’s, Dearnley once again rocked to the sound of the Wigan-based band 'Dukes Road', formerly known as 'Gifted' on Saturday, 7 October.

These talented musicians, performing music mainly from the '50s and '60s and making their fifth visit to Dearnley, stage their performances to benefit a range of worthwhile charities.

They were introduced at the beginning and thanked at the end of the evening by Roger Halstead, appropriately, since it is due to his friendship with band members that we again had opportunity to be entertained by them.

The event was organised by Ada Pratt and her Social Committee, as was the supper.
At the latest count the evening contributed around £700 to boost church funds.

Our appreciation goes to those who staged the event and to everyone who attended and enjoyed another great evening at St Andrew’s.
