Janet Baxendale appointed at Grace’s Place Children’s Hospice

Date published: 12 October 2017

Grace’s Place, part of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, is due to begin caring for children and families in the Bury, Rochdale and Oldham areas and has appointed Janet Baxendale as its first member of staff.

Janet Baxendale is the retail project manager for Grace’s Place. She will be searching for premises for a series of new Forget Me Not charity shops, getting them ready for opening, and getting a team of staff and volunteers trained up.

A spokesperson for Gace's Place said: "Our charity shops are an essential source of funding for us.

"Initially, Janet will be looking for three sites to open Forget Me Not charity shops in Bury, Oldham and Rochdale. She knows the pressure is on: our goal is to have at least one, if not two, shops open by November.

"We will be needing people to donate all sorts of goods – and people to come and buy them.

"We will be recruiting paid store managers, and we will need a team of volunteers."

Grace’s Place expects to begin caring for children with life-shortening conditions through a Hospice at Home service before the end of 2017, and we hope it will be fully operational within a further year.
