Date published: 26 June 2017

Matthew Moss High School students took part in the Rochdale School Games competition
held at Manchester’s Sportcity on Tuesday 20 June 2017.

Danielle Parkinson who accompanied the Matthew Moss team to the event said:“Matthew Moss students took part in a range of sporting activities and they did themselves and Matthew Moss proud, competing like professionals and behaving impeccably.”

Matthew Moss student Taiwo, who won a gold medal in the Long Jump event, said “It was
great to meet people from other schools. The competition was fierce but everyone got on
brilliantly. It was a fantastic day and we are very grateful to all the teachers who took the
trouble to organise it for us.”

The event was arranged by The Rochdale Borough School Games Partnership, which was
established in order to increase the number of young people taking part in high quality
physical education, school sport and physical activity, whilst working to ensure the
experiences are innovative, high quality and engaging.
