Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 24 March 2017

The children who form the Hamer choir went to the town hall on Tuesday 21 March to represent Hamer as part of the Rochdale Music Festival. They were accompanied by Miss Page, Miss Mullane and Miss Timperley, who were very proud of their efforts.

We had a visit from ‘Hoppy’, the Springhill Hospice mascot, during Celebration Assembly. He came to receive a cheque for £240 that had been raised during our World Book Day celebrations. A huge thank you to everyone for contributing to such a good cause.

The children have all been busy in class this week making their creations for the Maths Happiness Fair on Friday 24 March afternoon. It been lovely going around school this week seeing the enthusiasm of the children. The monies raised will be going to a number of different charities, as chosen by each class, and we will give further details of the monies raised next week.

We would like to say a huge thankyou to families for donating so many items in preparation for the week. This will mean that more profits will be heading towards the children’s chosen charities. All our parents support, as always, is invaluable. Thankyou.

Class photographs have been arranged for Thursday 30 March 2017. Please can parents ensure the children come in looking their very best and the order forms will be sent home by the end of next week.

The new school lunch menus for summer term have now been finalised and copies will be sent home next week. These menus have been produced following input from the children via the school council. Parents, if your child doesn’t currently have a school meal and you would like to start after Easter, then please let the class teacher know before we finish on Friday 31st March. The price is £10.25 a week.

Thank you to all the great mums and dads who came to the SEND Parents Group this week. It was lovely to hear what parents had to say and we will be holding another one next term. A special thank you to our mummy translators.
