The ring was found by family friend Ann Bowker under the sand at the back of the cargo net on the pirate ship at Springfield Park on Friday evening (17 March).

Keally said: “Ann and her friend are angels; I’m forever indebted to them. Another massive shout out also goes to Emma and Dani for also trying to look. I cannot thank them enough for even going out in this awful weather to try and look for it.

“I honestly believed I was never going to see it again. Family and friends like them make the world a great place to live.

"This girl has found her ‘happy ever after’ ending to this chapter and can’t wipe the smile off her face. I really cannot believe it, it's a miracle. I am still smiling like a Cheshire cat.

"Thank you Rochdale Online for the support and helping me get the word out. It really meant a lot.

“This is why I am proud to be Rochdalian and I love the people who live here - community spirit, love and support at its very best.”
