Middleton Rotary Club President Ged Heatherington with Father Eliud
Middleton Rotary Club was visited by Rotarian Father Eliud Mwenda, from the Rotary Club of Meru, Kenya.
Father Eliud, a Catholic Priest with a very large parish with seven churches to attend to, provides spiritual guidance to the community, and also food and schooling for the children, employment for locals and provisions through farming the land of the parish.
The aim is to help make the community self-sufficient and Father Eliud is determined to achieve this over time in small steps.
A spokesperson for Middleton Rotary Club said: "Father Eliud is a Rotarian from the Meru Club and is President elect for the club. He has a personal motto, which is ‘aspire to inspire before I expire’, he certainly seems to be fulfilling that."
