Game on - But help needed to clear the snow

Date published: 22 January 2013

Following a pitch inspection yesterday by ex Super League referee Ian Smith, we can confirm that, at present, the pitch is in good condition and is more than playable.

However, to get the game on, the snow that is currently lying on top of the covers needs to be cleared.

The grounds man, James Blackburn and his assistants, Tony and Drew have put a plea out to anyone who can spare an hour or so to come to the club and help with the mammoth task of clearing the pitch.

Shovels and wheelbarrows are provided, as is as much hot chocolate as you can drink and a well deserved pint in the bar following Fridays game.

Many hands make light work and your help is desperately needed to get the game on, as St Helens play there final warm up game before the start of the Super League season next week and Hornets prepare for their Championship 1 title challenge.

Please come to Spotland Stadium reception and ask for James at either the football or rugby reception desks, or call 01796 648004 for more information.
