Edna Burrows celebrates 80th birthday

Date published: 20 December 2022

Edna Burrow, one of the longest-serving and best-known parishioners at St Andrew's, Dearnley, celebrated her 80th birthday in church last Sunday with friends and fellow worshippers.

They shared Edna's special day with birthday cake, tea and coffee and an organ-led rendering of "happy birthday."

"I've been coming to St Andrew's for about 12 years," said Edna, "and it's great to share this special birthday with so many friends here in church."

Edna is a keen churchgoer and a former member of the St Andrew's Parochial Church Council (PCC).

Her husband Peter, a keen Rochdale AFC fan, will be remembered as a local amateur rugby league player of some repute in his younger days.
