New dance and fitness studio to open in Milnrow

Date published: 27 March 2014

A new dance and fitness studio will be opening its doors in Milnrow on Sunday 6 April.

Loud Studios, which is owned and run by sisters Sarah and Laura Cryer, is something that their dad always wanted them to pursue. Sarah said: “The studio is something our dad really wanted us to do, he died suddenly this time last year and we know how proud he would be of us for doing this.”

The studio has also always been a dream of the sisters. Sarah and Laura started LSK Dance almost 10 years ago and have been practising in the Milnrow Working Men’s Club function room.

Sarah added: “We have been in Milnrow Carnival with LSK every year since we started and have built up quite a reputation.

"The studio has always been a dream of ours and when the space became available, exactly where we wanted it, we couldn't say no.”

Milnrow was chosen as the location for the studio because both Sarah and Laura thought that this was something the area needed. “There's nothing like it apart from the big gyms in Rochdale,” said Sarah.

The pair have been working on getting the studio together since December last year and have completely re-decorated the space. “We signed the lease in December and every weekend since New Year, we have been in the studio decorating. It took five weekends just to paint the whole place white. We had some of our older dancers come help and they have stuck to it with us every weekend,” added Sarah.

The studio, which has been named Loud to reflect the girl’s personalities, will include a number of classes. The girls hope to hold Zumba classes, Street Dance classes, Cheerleading Bootcamp, Tap and Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Dancercise.

Sarah added: “We will also hire the room out so if any clubs/groups need a space to practise their hobby, like weight watchers groups, bands and drama groups, then we have the space. We also have facilities to hold children's parties.”

Sarah added: “We just hope we can make the studio a success and hope that the Milnrow community and the surrounding villages can use the space to its potential.”

The studio is located at Albert Mill, Newhey Road, Milnrow.
