Chris Dunphy, chairman of Rochdale Football Club, opened the launch party for the Christian Resources Exhibition's (CRE) return to the north of England on Wednesday (28 March) – minutes before boarding a coach to Wembley stadium.
Mr Dunphy invited CRE to hold its launch party at the Crown Oil Arena.
Mr Dunphy's company, Christopher Dunphy Ecclesiastical, which specialises in church heating, has exhibited at more than 100 Christian Resources Exhibitions.
He said: “CRE is the only place where I can meet a lot of customers face to face – that’s why I’m such a fan.
“The internet is great for product identification and specifications, but CRE allows customers to talk about their particular needs and make a more informed decision.
"Over the years I have found people like to buy from people, not organisations and companies and CRE creates such a wonderful, personal atmosphere."
Steve Goddard, who runs a PR agency in St Helens, bought the exhibition last year with his wife.
