Accountability now - protest

03 February 2024

Saturday 03 February 2024
1pm

Number One Riverside
Smith Street
Rochdale
OL16 1XU

Details:

Following the release of the GMCA review into CSE in Rochdale, and because we know this happened not to 3 girls but 100's and the establishment knew and choose to ignore it.

Speakers will be William Howarth - Parents Against Grooming and Nick Buckley, along with many other child abuse campaigners and survivors.

Now comes the time for accountability for this. What do we hope to acheive by protesting is the following:

  • Accountability for all thoose involved in ignoring and covering this abuse up. From so far back as 1990, 1970 and 2005, 2010, Knowl View, Cambridge House and the countless grooming gang scandals that have destroyed our towns and our communities and most important the lives of our children
  • The sacking of Steve Rumbelow the chief executive of Rochdale Council
  • Reopening investigations into Knowl View - all Rochdale's grooming scandals
  • Top down reform of public protection with the people of rochdale involved in this process
  • A local election with all seats put up. Its clear those elected have failed and its down to the people of Rochdale to decide whether they should remain in office
