Rochdale Canal walk 1: Castlefield to Rochdale
Meet at Rochdale Railway Station at 9am prompt for 9.10am train to Manchester Victoria

Walk distance = 13.5 miles.
Start point is Science & Industry Museum, Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4JP Meet Rochdale Railway Station at 9am prompt for 9.10am train to Manchester Victoria. Walk from Victoria to Science Museum for 10am start.
This is this first of three walks during which we will complete the length of the Rochdale Canal from Castlefield in Manchester to Sowerby Bridge. This first walk is Castlefield to Rochdale and is approximately 13.5 miles. This is a rare opportunity to walk the full length of the Rochdale Canal towpath from Castlefield Basin to Sowerby Bridge in three parts - a total canal distance of 32 miles. Those who complete the full distance will receive a 'Certificate of Completion' from NIgel.
Please note, that due to the popularity of these walks, car sharing whenever possible would reduce parking congestion.
Advise: Walking Boots, Waterproofs if needed, adequate clothing, snack and drink.
Generally dogs are not permitted, with exception of Registered Assistance Dogs, but anyone wishing to bring a dog should contact the Walk Leader in advance to obtain His/Her consent or otherwise.
