Flights of Fancy: The Wild Escape

Details:

All kinds of birds have escaped from Touchstones, the Pioneers Museum and Rochdale Town Hall, to return to their natural environments. Find out more about our feathered friends, their journeys, habitats and behaviours, then enjoy a range of fun activities in celebration of this year’s Earth Day.

Activities include:

  • Make your own bird on a stick
  • Bird flick animation
  • Hand puppets
  • Carbon reduction activities
  • Storytelling with Rochdale Libraries

Also, learn all about birds from exhibits including:

  • Animations created by St Peters CE Primary School
  • Taxidermy from Touchstones and Rochdale Rangers
  • Hand puppets created by Newhey Primary School
  • Model birds created by Caldershaw Primary School
  • Cartoons created by Broadfield Primary, Greenhill Primary and Newhey Primary Schools
  • Historic images

This event takes place in collaboration with Art Fund, Touchstones, Cooperative Heritage Trust and Rochdale Town Hall.
