Middleton Pace Egg Plays

Details:

Watch as St George vanquishes his challengers and good triumphs over evil in these traditional folk plays in Middleton. The centuries-old custom was revived in 1967 and has since taken place every Easter Monday in the town. The first performance kicks off around midday outside The Dusty Miller before touring around several other pubs in the town.

  • Dusty Miller, 12pm
  • The Old Roebuck, 12.30pm
  • Britannia Inn, 1pm
  • Harbord Harbord, 1.30pm
  • The New Inn, 2pm
  • Old Boar's Head, 2.30pm
  • Ring O'Bells, 3pm

Followed by egg-rolling on St Leonard's Church Hill.
