Rochdale Model Engineers are hosting a talk by Graham Nicholas of the P2 Steam Locomotive Company. The P2 class is one of Gresley’s iconic designs, a 2-8-2 designed specifically for express trains on the hilly and winding route between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. 6 locos were built, but sadly they were converted into rather ugly 4-6-2 pacific locos by his successor Thompson.
Graham Nicholas is coming over from Yorkshire just to talk to Rochdale Model Engineers on the subject.
Everyone is welcome, not just society members.
