Details:
Join Rochdale Phoenix Opera Society for a phenomenal performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Ruddigore", or "The Witch’s Curse”.
Ruddigore was the 10th collaboration between G&S and is a hilarious parody of stock Victorian melodrama. They don’t want to give too much away if this is your first time watching this fantastic show, so here’s a brief little picture of what delights await you!
Filled with curses, ghosts and crime Ruddigore follows the two bad baronets of Ruddigore, who must commit a crime a day – or perish in inconceivable agony. Embroiled in a complicated love affair, the story takes some unexpected turns and is guaranteed to be an entertaining evening. If you’ve never watched an opera or operetta before then G&S is a great place to start and will have you hooked for a lifetime. For those of you who are die-hard G&S fans, Rochdale Phoenix Opera Society are sure that you will love their rendition!
