Safe Fasting Advice for Ramadan

Three doctors who are experts in their fields are coming to Madina Masjid Mosque to give a talk about safe fasting in Ramadan.

The event is open to anyone who wants to come along and find out more about fasting safely and how to stay healthy in general.

Both Professor Philip Kalra, director of research and innovation, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA), who is an expert in kidney function, and Dr Naveed Younis, from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, who is a diabetes specialist, will be talking at the event, and advising how people can fast safely and look after their general health.

Dr Stuart Stewart, who is the Research Ambassador at Rochdale Care Organisation, part of the NCA, will be talking about how research can improve health in Rochdale and how members of the community can get involved.

The event starts at 2:15pm with a meet and greet, before moving into the Safe Fasting talk at 2:45pm. At 3:15pm the talk about health research opportunities for the Rochdale community begins. At 3:30pm the event will finish and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
