Details:
Each year Rochdale Connections Trust participate in the One Billion Rising campaign. This is a global mass action initiative that takes place on 14th February with the aim of highlighting that 1 in 3 women across the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime – that equates to 1 billion women and girls – and we are proud to demonstrate our solidarity and to help raise awareness by “rising” to show we are determined in Rochdale to play our part and to help create a world where violence is no longer acceptable.
We would like to invite people to take part, come along and join us.
The campaign theme this year is “Raise the Vibration; Rise for Revolution” and involves participating in a dance (don’t worry, we all make fools of ourselves!). Our dance event is scheduled to take place on Friday 14th February 2020 at our office (60 Drake Street, Rochdale) from 11.30am onwards.
We will be holding some practice sessions on Tuesday 27th January and Tuesday 11th February 2020 at 12pm to 1.30pm if you would like to come along. If you can't make it, you can practice the dance by visiting the link below.
The focus is on the numbers who come out to participate and not on how well you can dance, so please don’t let having 2 left feet put you off; come along and have a laugh, whilst raising awareness of this mass injustice that exists on a global level.
