Milnrow and Newhey will be the place to be on Saturday 22 June 2019 as many people line the streets to watch Milnrow and Newhey Carnival parade and attend the summer fete afterwards at Milnrow Memorial Park.
This year, the committee are delighted to announce that Springhill Hospice and Rochdale Heartbeat will be their chosen charities for 2019.
The procession will start from 1.00pm, but everyone is welcome from 12noon.
Milnrow Brass Band will lead the parade with the Deputy Mayor of Rochdale. Moorhouse Primary, Crossgates Primary, Newhey Community Primary and St Thomas C of E Primary Schools, along with numerous trailers, cars, dancing groups and walker joining the procession.
The parade will terminate at Milnrow Memorial Park where there will be live music from New Identity - a five piece pop party band covering hits from Duran Duran, Spandu Ballet, Barry White, Robbie Williams, Bruno Mars plus more. Not to be missed!
At the park there will be a funfair for all ages, paintball and crazy golf, children's clothing, handbags, accessories, face painting and glitter hair to name but a few.
There will be many stalls to tempt your taste buds too, one of which is Mrs Barber’s Baker. There will be around 20 flavours to choose from including a gluten free option.
Kaizen-Do Karate will also be holding exciting demonstrations and board breaking throughout the day at the park. The award-winning Academy will also have lots of Sensei’s at the event who will deliver mini taster sessions for anybody who would like to take part.
