New Year’s Eve Fireworks

31 December 2016

Saturday 31 December 2016
5.30pm & midnight

The Esplanade
Rochdale Town Centre

Details:

Two displays - one at 5.30pm and one at midnight.

Free children’s funfair rides from 2pm to 5.30pm, a children’s fancy dress disco hosted by Revolution 96.2 and circus performances from Skylight Circus Arts. Food and drink will be available and at 5.30pm there will be a firework display suitable for children. Fancy dress is optional, but encouraged, so dress your children up as their favourite superhero and they can have their face painted during the afternoon!

From 10pm the night time entertainment kicks off again on stage, with sets from Revolution 96.2 and ex Hacienda DJ Elliot Eastwick. He’ll be joined by Kelly Llorenna, the voice of a stack of dance hits who will be singing live before the second dazzling firework display as Rochdale town hall clock chimes midnight for the start of 2017.

Dance diva Kelly’s vocals on the 1995 Number 2 hit ‘Set you Free’ helped make it one of the most memorable club hits of the decade. Her other chart hits include ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy’, Flip N Fill’s ‘True Love Never Dies’ ‘Heart of Gold’ and ‘This Time I Know It's For Real.’

There’ll also be a fire-eating display, and the optional theme for the evening for partygoers who really want to get into the spirit is New York fancy dress.

Food and drink will be on sale.
