Instructions on setting up an account and uploading your video for Rochdale's Got Talent competition.
Setting up an account
- Go to www.youtube.com and click ‘create account’ along the top of the page.
- Follow the instructions to create your new youtube and then ‘accept’ at the bottom of the page.
- Enter your email address on the next page and create your account with a password.
- Check your email and click the link sent to you by youtube to verify the account. Your account is active.
Uploading a video
- Hold cursor over username in right hand top corner, then click ‘my videos’ in the drop down box.
On this next page click the yellow box labelled ‘upload’.
- Then click ‘upload video’ to find your video saved on your pc. Once the video file name is clicked it will upload automatically.
- Enter your name (or act name) in the ‘Title’, ‘Description’ & ‘Tags’ fields. Select ‘entertainment’ as the category, click ‘share your video with the world’, then click ‘save changes.
- Once your file has uploaded it will have a large green tick next to the name and you will see ‘embed and sharing options’ just below it. When clicked, a URL box opens up. The URL beginning with http://www.youtube.com/watch is the item you need to copy and paste into your entry form.
