Patients Council Divisions
Over the past 2 years, the Patients' Council has developed four divisions to enable it to work on specific projects. Each division is detailed as follows:
The Carers Division
This group focuses on the needs and the views of the carers when developing new patient pathways.
The group is currently working on:
- Emergency Services in Cases of a Crisis
- Respite
- One Point of Contact for Information
- Welfare Benefits
- Help With Aids and Equipment
- Out of Hours Services
- Carers Assessment
- Training for Carers (Moving and Handling)
- Working Carers/Employers Support
- Advocacy Services
Parent & Baby Division
This group will focus on the needs and views of parents with babies when developing new patient pathways.
This group is in its infancy and with the Healthy Futures Programme leading on the Making it Better programme for the north east sector of Greater Manchester, we have, and continue to recruit a members to this group. We are looking for parents with babies and couples that are actively planning to start a family or adopt one.
This group will work with the executive team at the Patients' Council to ensure new service developments are well communicated ensuring parents are fully engaged in both service changes and new service developments.
Youth Members Division
This group will focus on the needs and views of young people when developing patient pathways. This group is currently being formed by students and will involve young people from both secondary schools and local colleges aged 12 to 24.
